Life in Boston promises to never be dull; the city offers students the opportunity to experience culture & adventure in an area known for premier research and education. Harvard Medical School is located idyllically surrounded by some of the best research hospitals and colleges in the world, while also only being a few blocks away from renowned museums, sport venues (go Sox!), and diverse restaurants.

Boston is known as a walking city, rich in history and easy to navigate whether on foot or using the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority, or commonly referred to as “the T.” The medical school is located conveniently off the orange or green line. For a taste of history, take a walk along the Freedom Trail or a tour of Harvard University's Cambridge campus, the oldest college in the United States.

Within walking distance from the school you will find Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox and a quick trip along the green line will take you to the TD Garden Arena home of the Bruins hockey team, Celtics basketball team, and a frequent concert venue to some of the best musicians in the world!

Quite literally right next door, you will find the world renowned Isabella Steward Gardner museum, known for its majestic artwork and the target of one of the most infamous art heists. Adjacent to the Gardner, you will find the Museum of Fine Arts, a beautiful museum from the inside out. Immunology students receive free access to both venues and they provide a great afternoon escape from the lab.

Boston is a small city full of hidden gems, located in the heart of New England which offers four seasons of enviable weather. The winter months offer local activities such as skiing, ice skating, and sledding; while in the summer roof decks and patios open all over the city, offering refreshing beverages with beautiful views of the Boston Harbor. However, it is the fall and spring time when the city literally flourishes along the beautiful emerald necklace surrounding the city in green. There is a reason Boston is known as a city of runners, who can blame us with such beautiful walking and running trails woven throughout the city!
