Claire Brown

Hometown: Des Moines, IA

Other Places I have lived: Providence, RI & Frederick, MD

Undergraduate Institution: Brown University

Dissertation Lab: Jared Rowe, MD, PhD

Rotation Labs: Jared Rowe, Kai Wucherpfennig

Research Interests: CD8+ T cells, Immune Development, Cancer Immunotherapy

Dissertation Project: I study the metabolic and epigenetic mechanisms that drive the development, function, and clonal dynamics of CD8+ T cells in neonates.

What I do for fun: I love reading, skiing in the winter, hiking in the summer, and hanging out with my orange tabby cat (Galileo). Outside the lab & the hospital, I can always be found exploring coffee shops or getting way too invested in the Boston sports scene!

What I like best about Boston: Hard to choose just one thing! Boston is my favorite city in the world. Between the sports, arts & music, proximity to the great outdoors, and no shortage of great cafes & restaurants, there's something for everyone. Academically, the connection between basic science and clinical medicine here is unparalleled. What makes Boston most unique is its people: everyone is curious and driven, and I've met many of my closest friends here!
